In the first round of Texas Holdem, the players must place an initial bet in order to enter the game. That stage takes place before they even see the cards. After all players have placed their initial bets, they are each dealt their two private cards and then a second round takes place after all players have decided to either remain or fold and lost their initial bet. Then the dealer reveals the three shared cards. After the players have seen three of the four shared cards, the third round begins, where the players still have the option of folding. Eventually, the dealer reveals the fourth shared card which is followed by and fourth and final round. In case more then one player remains in the game, the cards are revealed. A player is entitled to not reveal his cards, but that means he cannot win.
During exposure and comparison of the hands the private cards are combined with the shared cards and the strongest hand wins.
